HISTORY
Peaceful Palms was established in 2017.
In 2008, I started my own business - Peaceful Palms Massage Treatments after receiving my NYS license in 2006. After a few years of inactivity and at the request of several of my clients, I reopened my business, Peaceful Palms Ltd. in 2017.
MEET FOUNDER
Maureen Harriott
Maureen Harriott is the owner of this business. In September 2002, she enrolled in the Massage Therapy Program at Queensborough Community College where she received extensive training. In June 2006, she received an A.A.S. degree in Massage Therapy and her New York State license in August 2006. In October 2022, she received certification as a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Technician (CMLDT).
As Maureen was growing up, the words, "Darling can you do your mother a favor and rub my hip it hurts so much" were daily household words. Her mother suffered from a deteriorating hip joint disease.
Even though Maureen was too young to understand that massage was therapeutic, she wasn't too young to understand that her mother felt better and always fell asleep. In 2002, Maureen was further motivated by coworkers who would sing "strumming my pain with her fingers" after they would receive a neck massage at their computer desks.
